The Leadership Training Programme for Principals is meticulously designed for current and aspiring principals of international schools, as well as middle leaders aiming to enhance their leadership capabilities within educational institutions.

Crafted by seasoned educators and leadership experts, this series offers a comprehensive exploration   of critical leadership domains, finely tuned to meet   the dynamic demands of modern education.

PROGRAMME STRUCTURE

The series comprises three distinct but interconnected training courses based on international schools’ key pillars. The three courses can be taken individually or in a series of three, with different certification modalities. Upon successful completion of each course, participants will receive individual certificates. Completion of all three courses qualifies participants for the Principal Training Certificate.

CERTIFICATION OPTIONS

Participants can choose individual courses based on their specific professional development needs or opt to complete the entire series. Upon successful completion of each course, participants will receive individual certificates.

A transformative program designed to equip school leaders with essential skills for navigating the complex educational landscape of today. Over five days, participants will delve into key topics such as leadership models, inclusive practices, strategic planning, effective communication, and assessment literacy. Join us on this dynamic journey of professional growth and leadership excellence in the 21st century. 

Leading for Student Success

The course is designed to prioritize student achievement and well-being by providing leaders with the tools and strategies to create environments where every student can flourish. Throughout this program, participants will explore innovative approaches to support student learning, foster inclusive communities, and cultivate environments conducive to student success. 

Leading for Educator’s Empowerment

The course is dedicated to equipping educational leaders with the knowledge and tools to construct effective professional development systems that empower and support educators. Throughout this immersive experience, participants will delve into the essential components of designing and implementing a comprehensive professional development framework. Topics will include cultivating a culture of continuous learning, leveraging data-driven practices, and fostering collaboration among educators. Join us as we explore the critical elements of constructing a professional development system that promotes educator growth and enhances student learning outcomes.

Group sizes are limited to 30 participants to ensure maximum effectiveness and learning outcomes.

Each course is four and a half days, long, Monday to Friday at 13:00.

Course 1 – Leading in the 21st century

Understanding Leadership Models: Participants will explore various models of leadership and different types of leaders to develop a nuanced understanding of effective leadership approaches. 

Inclusive Leadership: Participants will learn principles of inclusive leadership, including strategies for fostering diversity, equity, and inclusion within educational settings. 

Strategic Planning and Change Leadership: Participants will acquire skills in strategic planning and change leadership to effectively navigate organizational change and drive continuous improvement. 

Effective Communication: Participants will develop communication principles and strategies essential for effective leadership, including clear and empathetic communication techniques. 

Assessment Literacy: Participants will enhance their assessment literacy by understanding frameworks, systems, and processes for comprehensive assessment practices, including both internal and external assessments. 

Coaching and Teaming Skills: Participants will learn principles of coaching and team dynamics to effectively coach individuals and teams towards achieving organizational goals. 

Reflective Practice: Participants will engage in reflective exercises to critically reflect on their leadership practices, identify areas for growth, and develop strategies for continuous professional development. 

These learning goals encompass the key topics and activities covered throughout the workshop, providing participants with a comprehensive understanding of leadership and assessment practices in education.

Learning Goals: 

Understand Student-Centered Leadership: Participants will gain a deep understanding of student-centered leadership principles, prioritizing student achievement and well-being as the central focus of their leadership approach. 

Develop Strategies for Supporting Student Learning: Participants will explore and develop innovative strategies to support student learning, including personalized learning approaches, differentiated instruction, and effective assessment practices. 

Foster Inclusive Communities: Participants will learn how to cultivate inclusive school environments that celebrate diversity, promote equity, and ensure that all students feel valued, respected, and included. 

Enhance Student Success Environments: Participants will discover methods to create and sustain environments conducive to student success, focusing on factors such as school culture, climate, and positive relationships between students and educators. 

Promote Student Well-being: Participants will explore strategies to prioritize student well-being, including mental health support, social-emotional learning initiatives, and creating a supportive and nurturing school environment. 

Implement Student-Centered Practices: Participants will develop the skills and knowledge necessary to implement student-centered practices in their leadership roles, empowering students to take ownership of their learning and fostering their growth and development. 

Evaluate and Reflect on Student Outcomes: Participants will learn how to collect, analyze, and reflect on student data and outcomes to continuously improve their leadership practices and ensure that every decision made is in the best interest of student success and well-being. 

Course 3 – Leading for Educator’s Empowerment

Understanding of Professional Development Frameworks: Participants will gain a comprehensive understanding of professional development frameworks, including key components such as needs assessment, goal setting, delivery methods, and evaluation strategies. 

Ability to Design Tailored Professional Development Plans: Participants will develop the skills to design tailored professional development plans that address the specific needs and goals of educators, fostering individual growth and collective improvement. 

Utilization of Data-Driven Practices: Participants will learn how to leverage data-driven practices to inform the design, implementation, and evaluation of professional development initiatives, ensuring alignment with organizational priorities and educator needs. 

Promotion of Collaborative Learning Communities: Participants will explore strategies for fostering collaborative learning communities within their educational institutions, promoting peer collaboration, reflection, and shared learning experiences. 

Cultivation of a Culture of Continuous Learning: Participants will explore approaches to cultivate a culture of continuous learning and professional growth, emphasizing the importance of ongoing development for educators at all stages of their careers. 

Enhancement of Leadership Skills: Participants will enhance their leadership skills in providing meaningful feedback, coaching, and support to educators, empowering them to thrive in their roles and contribute to student success. 

Evaluation and Iteration of Professional Development Initiatives: Participants will develop the ability to evaluate the effectiveness of professional development initiatives, using feedback and data to iterate and improve future offerings, ultimately enhancing educator effectiveness and student learning outcomes.

Course 2 – Leading for Student Success: 1 500 euros

Course 3 – Leading for Educator’s Empowerment: 1 500 euros

Participants can choose individual courses based on their specific professional development needs or opt to complete the entire series.

Upon successful completion of each course, participants will receive individual certificates.

Completion of all three courses qualifies participants for the Principal Training Certificate.

Option 1 – on completion of the full programme (3 courses)

Participants seeking an “Principal Leadership Training” certificate are required to complete the three courses and the corresponding final talks with the facilitators:

  • Participation in sessions (40%)
  • Written report or oral presentation during the final task on Friday 5th in the morning with the facilitators (60%)
  • No numeral grade will be awarded; only pass or fail conditions.

After the assessment sessions for all three courses, Veritas Education grants successful participant Certificate.

 

Option 2 – on completion of the individual courses

Participants seeking an individual certificate in one of the courses, are required to complete the final talks with the facilitators.

  • Participation in sessions (40%)
  • Written report or oral presentation during the final task on Friday 5th in the morning with the facilitators (60%)
  • No numeral grade will be awarded; only pass or fail conditions.

After the assessment session, Veritas Education grants successful participants the corresponding certificate.
